This was just a weekend away..... out of Joburg on the Saturday morning - that great drive via Harrismith and Van Reenen Pass on through Pietermaritzburg (this is all before the highway was built) - and into Durban to stay at a friend's flat (they were out of town)...

I think we then went further down the coast into Pondoland
Here I've
tried to capture the rhythmic swaying of the sugar cane and the movement of the
can-cutters as they toil in the baking African sun....... no - you're right - it
was a zoom-lens shot that got out of focus!!

We then turned around and came back north again, and at Port Shepstone turned left inland..
