Here are some piccies that I have no idea where they were taken - maybe you can help......??
Now this..
(shot 12) .. was together with the
Swazi pics - BUT we didn't go to the coast
during that trip. My best guess is Algoa Bay looking towards Port Elizabeth...
but it doesn't look quite right - and is a real mystery!!
Actually I think it looks Mediterranean, down the south-East coast Manfredonia way.... but that means it was taken in the 1960's...
Its in an AGfa blue/white transparency holder and the shot number on the film is 12. Putting it together with the other blue/white Agfa shots I have - number 12 places it in the middle of the Swazi trip/piccies, between (Shot 10) and (Shot 15) - but as I say - we didn't go out to the coast that trip......??
These next 4 piccies I have no trouble identifying "where" - its the "when" which is difficult... Firstly they are taken in Kimberley, and I know I flew there for a day or two on business maybe in 1970 or 1971 and I can remember being out at the airport/strip early and taking this one...
Basically, just "nothing"
- desert......
I'm pretty sure Almuth was not with me, but for some reason the next 3 - I think she was there - and that throws all "timing" way out...

Kimberley's big claim to
fame - the Big Hole I stayed in one of the small hotels over there - the hole
was sort of at the bottom of the back garden. For those of you that don't know -
it was originally flat land and then they found diamonds, and a stampede ensued,
with all the earth/rocks being excavated by hand, leaving..... a big hole!!
And this confirms some of
the statistics.. You can see they dug way down.... and then the water has
flooded in and covered maybe three quarters of the depth.
