Genesis

God created the Universe (i.e. everything)

Adam and Eve created Cain (Farmer) and Abel (Shepherd)

God liked Abel and didn't like Cain

Cain killed Abel

Cain made a run for it

And created a clan

And people did bad things

So God decided to kill everything off

He told Noah (who was an OK bloke - but where did he come from??) to build a ship

And Noah and his family and 2 of every type of animal/mammal/insect etc.. should board the ship

Then God created a big flood which killed of everything that wasn't in the ship

When the flood was finished Noah and his people and animals disembarked.

And they spread out/roamed and multiplied

God told Abram to leave town and God would look after him - he took his wife and Lot

Abram came to Egypt and worried that he would be killed if it was known that the lady he was with was his wife - so they pretended she was his sister

And the Pharaoh liked her - and paid Abram sheep etc.. as a bride-price

God sent plagues over Egypt because of this arrangement

The Pharaoh realised this and banished them all

They went South with their flocks which were too big to be supported by the land - so they split up

Lot got captured by warring tribes

But was rescued by Abram

Abram took an Egyptian maid (Hagar) because his wife could not bear children and she became pregnant

The maid produced and reckoned she was better than the wife but God told her to calm down

God told Abram the future was going to be good, and his name should now be Abraham

And all his men/males should be circumcised

And God said Abram's wife Sarah would have a child even though she was too old

God got Lot, his wife, 2 daughters out of Sodom - before it was destroyed.

Lot went to Zoar

God destroyed Sodom and Gomorroh because of the bad ways of the inhabitants

Lot and his 2 daughters went up the mountain to live

Lot had sex with his 2 daughters and they became pregnant with sons

Abraham and Sarah his wife went to Gerar where she slept with the king but - no sex...

Abraham and the king sorted out their differences

God had sex with Sarah and she became pregnant with a son - Isaac

God told Abraham to let Hagar and her son go and create a tribe elsewhere
