02 June, 2006 - I'd had plenty of notice and so.. there we (Janet and I) were, around 22:00 (Friday 2nd June, 2006) in Terminal 1 of Changi airport - awaiting the arrival of QF 319 from Sydney. Very prompt, baggage arrived within 20 minutes of touchdown - and Janet said "that big man will be Martin" - and so it turned out to be!! Welcome, welcome!! We don't look a day older than the last time we met..... we reckon that was 47 years ago!! And off we go to our flat...
No piccies that first night... Martin was of course 2 hours ahead of us - so after a lot of coming up to date - bedtime was at midnight - 02:00AM for him.
03 June, 2006 - The next morning (Saturday) he was up early(ish) and after a fry-up breakfast all 3 of us were off out to Orchard Road - Janet had some shopping to do - so we just tagged along.
Lunch was in Borders and a few piccies were taken - Martin to send those for inclusion here...

Then to Parkway Parade for provisioning etc.. home for some more chatting and refreshments and then after some sherberts.....

Sunday 4th June 2006 - Another fry-up breakfast and Martin and I went out for a walk along the East Coast Park....stopped for lunch and some sherberts
only to help cool us down
of course. back to the flat, more chitty-chatting and then a photo-opportunity..(notice

Martin loaded onto the plane nice and early...all of which worked well.
As I write this (5th June, 2006)... he should be landing in Heathrow, this very minute.... hope it was a good flight... Heathrow at 05:00AM..... wonderful!! Hope the rest of the trip - around England/Wales is a big success, and many thanks for taking the detour here... both Janet and I now feel very positive about coming to stay with Kate and yourself (Martin) for a month or two when we do our Great Oz Tour in about 3 to 4 years from now!!
A note to be made here... about the Ealing Tech Football Team picture - Martin reckons that's NOT Robin Robinson, but some other bloke... I still think it is Robbo... will we ever find out??
Update!! Update!! Just received piccies from Martin.... late June, 2006 - sprinkled them throughout the foregoing - and he's sent these too....
The old Ealing Tech school - its still there!! All the
windows on the ground floor were the "Hall" - used for assembly in the mornings,
disco's at lunch times (Bill Haley, Elvis etc... what times!!) and Judo etc...
in the evenings - classrooms were above.
and the full length of "the new building" (it was new in about 1957!!)
