February 29th - arrived in the UK, raced around lots of old friends and relatives over the next 8+ weeks, but also managed to see some old school chums... see below:
Maggie Leng was first ( 11th March, 2004) - in Woodford (East London) - well done Maggie for putting me up - showing me round and making my visit so enjoyable and memorable. Maggie (Margaret Leng - Margaret Charles) picked me up at Woodford tube station in her little red car and 3 minutes later we were inside her house. A quick chat to Carol Wheeler (Carol Woolard) in Berks on the phone (she has almost a full list of girls attending Ealing Tech and will pass it on), and then Maggie and I were off to an Italian dinner - very good/enjoyable/noisy. Next morning - tea in bed a bacon sandwich later and then we were off sightseeing London town. First around St. Pauls
and then over the new bridge to the Tate Modern, Globe etc..
After that, past the "Eye", down into Churchill's Bunker at Downing St (excellent), lunch in Covent Garden
quickly back to Woodford, a cup of tea and a chat - a great
time!!
Carol and Maggie worked on the list of girls at Ealing Tech - and I got it on my return to Singapore - here's the definitive list!
Chris Ward in Norfolk was next up (8th April, 2004) - only visited with him and Jean for a couple of hours but good chatting/coming up to date. Lovely home and all the wood-working projects he has - well done Chris!! We checked out his PC to see if it was worth creating a web-site for the wood-working and decided against it (although we thought about a Web-site for the Hawes Cup winners) - he's well into the Karate although doing less and less these days - we will keep in touch!! Sorry - forgot to take piccies!!
Paul and Dorothy Tucker in Hampshire - (19th April, 2004) - brilliant set-up, what with the office/studio and snooker rooms - fabulous!! Well done Tuckers!! Do please let us repay your hospitality soon - come to Singapore - we'll show you around!! Saw Jessie and Pam and Tony - of course all the boys (Simon, Philip and David) - together with their lovely ladies - Debbie (and Oscar) , Simone and Sacha -

Mary and Alan Britt in Sussex - 28th April, 2004 - sooooo welcoming!! Great to see you both after so long - immediately recognisable of course!! Congratulations on the best shower in the UK during my trip!! Lots of times and places discussed, and to you both - please do come and visit us in Singapore - again - sorry forgot to take piccies!!
Sorry to Mick Burrell, Garth Randall and Ray Randall for not getting to you - but it was a bit hectic from time to time - and I did travel 5,000 miles during those 8 weeks, shame I couldn't achieve the extra 30 or 40!!
